// THE POUNDSHOP x SCIENCE MUSEUM //

If you haven't ever visited the pop-up phenomenon that is The Poundshop, drop everything and make a beeline to the latest installment opening this week at the Science Museum.

Part art installation and part pop-up shop, the aim of The Poundshop is to bring great design to a wider audience. Products are sold for £1, £5, £10, £15 or £20 and, with low overheads and low-risk, the format allows designer-makers to experiment with new or interesting products.

Previous events have partnered with the ICA, Selfridges and the V&A, but this time the shop will have a distinctly Science Museum feel, with designers encouraged to work to a scientific brief.

Of course, we are very excited because Alfred & Wilde 'Platonic Solids' mugs will feature in the pop-up shop. And you can even learn more about the origins of the designs on your mugs by visiting the Mathematics Gallery in the museum!

The opening this Wednesday 24th June will coincide with Science Museum Late, The Next Big Thing, in collaboration with the Royal Society. Scientists and researchers will be looking at what booze does to our brains, and why diamonds are more than just a gemstone.
